From instance.py: # The maximum number of instances we will ezpand out to. # Raise a TooManyInstancesError exception if we exceed this. max_allowed_instances = 1000 ... which will make events disappear from instance 1000 or not get created at all if you place the mother event sufficiently far back in the past. If - say - your default_future_expansion_duration is 2 years, you currently cannot create a daily recurring event with a motherevent before ~ april 2008. Or if you create a daily recurring event today, it will no longer work after 1000 days. Up to version one we carried a patch to set the delegate flag by default. With version 1.1 of PyKerberos I added a few flags to the init function so that it is easy to control the flags without patching the code. The code is backwards compatible as it adds a default argument to the function that is set to the previous defaults. This issue is quite annoying especially when your user id contains a 'b' :) I found that this issue was reported on the CalendarServer-users mailing list in April 2008 [1]. Unfortunately this bug does not seem to have been fixed as I am running a fresh SVN checkout [2] A patch [3] was proposed in reply to this email fixing this issue. Applying it solved this 'b' key issue problem. That branch uses twisted/python/reflect.py which in turn tries to import modules from the twisted that is installed system-wide instead of the twisted/branches/dav- acl-1608-4 branch that was donwloaded by the `run -s` script. See the attached files for the errors. In short, branches/dav- acl-1608-4/python/reflect.py tries to import /usr/lib/python2.5/site- packages/twisted/plugins/cred_anonymous.py instead of branches/dav- acl-1608-4/twisted/plugins/cred_anonymous.py. This causes problems because the system-wide Twisted is 8.1.0. The cred plugins of 8.1.0 depend on twisted.cred.strcred but the two year old dav-acl-1608-4 doesn't have those.
