Re: [Calendarserver-maintainers] Status of the Debian packages of Apple calendar server
Hi Noèl, cc'ing calendarserver-dev @ macosforge, since upstream (obviously) reads it and some of the folks there are building on linux. The calendarserver alioth project is an ongoing effort to packages up Apple's calendarserver for Debian [0]. On Fri, Aug 10, 2007 at 06:55:05PM +0000, Noèl Köthe wrote:
just sumarizing the status of the Debian packages of the calendar server and the next steps and some general information.
python-kerberos (optional) needs to be checked to get working. Not needed right now. Kerberos now works with commit 0a8aa4dea42107604c6da57ead6e5f083b17dcdb [1]. The bug is actually in calendarserver, not in pykerberos [2]. Tested it with firefox and iceowl, the later just needs SPNEGO/Kerberos enabled in the default build.
python-pydirector (optional) this is for loadbalancing. We dont need it right now. ...and it needs patches from the calendarserver source tree, see [3]. upstream seems a bit unresponsive ;) Maybe due to the upcoming 1.0 release [4]?
[..snip..]
twisted-calendarserver this is the biggest part. We need to check what are the patches/differences for python-twisted with the acl branch and what are the possible ways to get the needed files into Debian. a) new package b) get patches into twisted-web2 Keeping it separate might be easiest for now. Maybe upstream merges back more of the patches, would be nice.
With the packages from http://calendarserver.alioth.debian.org/packages/ (i386 package will be added soon) we have a runing calendarserver. calendarserver git is now be buildable without patches. I'll just update the linux ppc packages. Could you add twisted i386 packages? Cheers, -- Guido
