Help, I broke my Calendar server and now I can't subscribe

I briefly had the CalendarServer up and running on my OS X box (10.4.x). Then I tried to get it running as a daemon with launchd and now all is awry. Here is what happens: * When I execute "run", the server starts up and seems OK. * I can go to http://localhost:8008/ in a web browser and see a listing of resources. Working with Group Calendars

Hi, I'm having trouble accessing group calendars. So far I've implemented a custom directory service tied to my application, but when a member tries to access their group's calendar, I get a "403 Forbidden" response. The custom directory service is properly returning the set of members for the group and then the DirectoryRecords for each member in the group. I've verified that the groupMembers() method in principal.py returns the proper DirectoryPrincipalResources of the members as well. I don't know if it's an issue with the directory service, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Can someone please explain what I'm missing? - Tyler Keating

caldavd.plist

I just got finished thoroughly smacking around the config parser, so the keys used in caldavd.plist are different than they were. The good news is that they are hopefully more readable and easy to understand now. There are more comments in the example file now, which should also help. The bad news is that your existing config files need to be replaced. Be sure to do so next time you update from trunk. -wsv

Auto Provisioning (Removals)

Hi, Adding a new directory record, auto-provisions a principal, directory and calendar collection, which is great. But when a record is removed, those files could(should) also be removed. Does the server have a method of unprovisioning files that don't match a record? I kind of figure it's left up to the client, but thought I'd ask. - Tyler

running DCS on FreeBSD

Hello, I've been happily running Calendar Server on a spare Linux machine for a while now, and would very much like to get it running under FreeBSD. Trying to get running

Hello, Just trying to get an SVN checkout of calendarserver to run. I tried: ./run -s But it said it couldn't find python. /usr/local/bin/python ./run -s gave: File "./run", line 24 wd="$(cd "$(dirname "$0")" && pwd)"; ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax And updating to python 2.4 gave me the same error. I couldn't see anything about this in the mailing list archives, and IRC seems sleepy right now. Any ideas? Also, am I perhaps better off waiting for leopard, or is it just too far away right now... I still just don't understand which of the limitations of this calendar service compared to usual WebCAL access are intended and which are not. Since it's claimed to conceptually be an extension of WebCAL I would expect to be able to create hierarchies and to adjust ACLs as usual, but in many locations this seems to be not working. I'm not sure whether you (the core developers) are interested in a discussion of this in more detail. (I've sent comments in the past without a response.) I could perfectly understand, if you are not, due to other more important things to work on first. I guess, time is pressing a bit. :-) *If* you like to get more helpful input, IMHO we need more documentation. What's the intended purpose of items in the hierarchy layout (e.g., sudoers, locations, resources)? How can people adjust access control? Where can people put own hierarchies and calendars? Unfortunately, my time is too limited to try to find out everything on my own at this stage of the project where things keep changing.

authentication strategies

Hello, Can anybody describe how I could authenticate to Active Directory to allow any user with an AD account access, and have this username create their own directory in the calendar data store on the fly? Has anybody done this before. Alternatively, I also have access to a Kerberos server I can authenticate against, but it doesn't look like direct Kerb auth is supported yet? adding events to DCS via a web interface

How hard would it be to create a web interface CalDAV client that would upload/modify events to a DCS server? Could a tool such as Cadaver be used for this, or would this be a lot more involved and complicated?
