Disabling HTTP

Attempting to disable HTTP (I only want HTTPS), following the directions in caldavd-dev.plist, yields an error. I saw a previous posting about this where someone found success in using (-1) as the HTTPPort value. While this indeed works, the server is constantly trying to start up on port -1 and failing. So, that's obviously a messy solution. Transferring "standard" ical calendars to server?

Hi, I'm in the process of setting up a calendar server on an older PowerMac G4 running Leopard so that my household can finally share the management of calendars. We have several calendars already set up in iCal, and I'd like to transfer those somehow to the server rather than having to duplicate everything. Is there any kind of easy way to do this? If not, is there a hard way? I don't mind writing code, but I kind of need to have a clue what the code is supposed to do, and I'm currently clueless. Thanks! -cj PS Quick question for the Apple folks: is there enough code posted at opensource.apple.com that I could get an OD master running on my machine without needing Leopard Server? Or is there magic that's not released that permits things like the DirectoryServer and friends to be an OD master? --- Chris Cleeland

Sunbird with Calendar Server Trunk Timezone issue

Hello, I am attempting to use Sunbird 0.7 with Calendar Server trunk pulled from today's (1/18) source...I also tried it with last night's trunk, but it looks like nothing has been changed in a couple of weeks anyway. I was able to successfully connect and create a calendar with Sunbird. I'm running into this weird issue that is reproducible every time. When I try to go in and create an event before 1:00 P.M., and this is on Sunbird on a Mac or PC, I get the following error: 2008-01-18 20:16:55-0800 [-] [caldav-8009] [-] "'In transformToNative, unhandled exception: twistedcaldav.timezones.TimezoneException: Unknown time zone: /mozilla.org/20070129_1/America/Los_Angeles'" If I create an event 1:00 P.M. or later, it creates the event just fine. Also, when I move an existing event, back past the 1:00 P.M. mark (say 11:00 A.M.), it will allow the move of that event. Once I get an event in the A.M. I can create events at any time of day, even between restarts of the server. However, if I delete all of the events, restart the server, I have the timezone issue above. I suppose I have a work around, but it still is very weird. Anybody have any ideas? I am running Calendar Server on Tiger on a PPC. I'm trying to extend caldav4j (http://code.google.com/p/caldav4j/) so that I can find calendars for a user by CalDAV from a WebObjects app. But let's just say that some WebDAV and CalDAV knowledge is required, so does anyone knows a good CalDAV programming reference, outside the RFC ?

Configuring server for htdigest authentication with Apache 2.2 - errors

Hi all, Have downloaded the latest stable source from svn and compiled on CentOS/RHEL5. Other than the PyKerberos dependency not resolving (I located the package via the OS's package manager) everything installed and ran OK until I tried to configure authentication using htdigest (or htpasswd for that matter). Using either of these options the server wouldn't start. I located this ticket on the site, which provides default values for the Apache access methods and looked promising. http://trac.calendarserver.org/projects/calendarserver/ticket/136 I initially tried installing the latest patch available which patched about 5 times, failing in one location. I replaced with the original source and tried patching with the config.py.patch (01/11/07). This applied successfully and the server now runs but I cannot log in and get this error in the server log after attempting to: File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/CalendarServer/twistedcaldav/config.py", line 210, in update raise ConfigurationError( twistedcaldav.config.ConfigurationError: Default service parameters must be specified in twistedcaldav.directory.apache.DigestDirectoryService using the 'defaultParams' class variable or via the 'defaultServiceParams' module variable in twistedcaldav.config. So I installed the next most recent patch (extensible_config.patch) which partially worked, two hunks failing. Am I on the right track here? Should I even be applying these patches to the current release? Are there additional XML parameters required? Really appreciate any help. Matt

Newbie Install Questions

I downloaded the current trunk then I did a run -s and made a copy of the plist file. When I do a run I get this: ./run Usage: twistd [options] Options: -f, --config= Path to configuration file. [default: /etc/caldavd/caldavd.plist] --version --help Display this help and exit. -o, --option= Set an option to override a value in the config file. True, False, int, and float options are supported, as well as comma seperated lists. ok, thank you. but why when I try to invite someone to an event (present in the xml flie) it dones't work ?
