Hi there, I'm running CalendarServer in the latest Version on my iMac for testing. Most is fine. May goal was to have in my calendar in ical the appointments both on my iMac and MacBook. Well and some other Calendars for resources. If I make new Appointment in the normal calendar (not stored on CalDAV) I can invite attendees without problem. If I start to type I get people out of the adressbook and mail sends perfect. But the first problem is when I schedule an appointment with 3 people from my company I have to type the email address like it is in teh accounts.xml that CalendarServer will notice them. If I just type the name or ID nothing will happen. The next problem is that I can't sent to an attendee from outside. Even if I drag an drop the vcard to my server based calendar. In the terminal I get a message that there was an error during post. I don't want to have to keep for one appointment 2 records one in the normal iCal calendar and one in the server based one. What do I wrong - or is it just not possible what I want? The next problem is that I want to delegate a calendar for reading to another person. It looks like it dosn't work with iCal. Kerberos Issue / Principals / Authentication

Hello, I'm having trouble getting Kerberos to run, it breaks when I do the ./ run script (could not start kerberos). All the directories under the XML service seem to set up okay, but access is denied even to admin/ admin logons from iCal 3.0 and anything else, and I suspect the Kerberos failure to be the issue. Please advise? BTW, logging in using Firefox to browse the directories works fine, it accepts the account uid/pwds from the accounts.xml file (which I've configured for use in the caldavd-dev.plist) in a pull-down dialogue box. It's using WebDAV/CalDAV clients that won't work for authentication. I get any mode of access denied or error 403 messages. When I check the server log output, it can't find principals for even "admin." After "No principal found for admin" it attempts to clone the __uids__/admin of resource <DirectoryPrincipalUIDPrivisioningResources....>. I tried manually building PyKerberos, and it referred me to do things in the kerberos.app that didn't work for me. The Edit-->Edit Realms didn't do anything, which means that Kerberos app isn't running right either. I could be wildly confused on this whole thing, so I apologize if I'm missing anything obvious here. The important thing is that I can't get anybody to authenticate when using a WebDAV/CalDAV client. Rollback: commit error?

iCal/DCS handling URLs with "@"

Hi, I have users on DCS were the username is an email address (containing @) on a modified DCS where the calendar-home-set URL is: /calendars/user@domain/ When I try to connect with iCal it askes for calendar-home-set for /principals/users/user@domain/ and correctly gets a DAV:href element with /calendars/user%40domain/ Of course @ doesn't need to be encoded, but from what I can read in the WebDAV RFC, this is legal syntax for a DAV:href element. BUT: After that iCal askes for PROPFIND on /calendars/user%2540domain/ I know I'm on my own when modifying DCS, but my point is that there must be a bug in iCal when it tries to re-encode the already encoded URL delivered by DCS. The bug should hit any iCal user using a CalDAV-server which returns URLs containg @, which makes interoperability difficult. regards, Peter

Free / Busy times troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I've finally got CalendarServer running on FreeBSD without any apparent issues other than the fact I can't seem to get Free/Busy times working. Can someone point me to some documentation or steps to try and resolve the issue? To be honest I'm not sure where to start. In Lightning there's an option to "Invite Attendees" but it doesn't seem to be pulling users from my list of CalendarServer users--instead, it seems to be pulling from Thunderbird's email contacts. And no matter what I do people's free/busy information shows "No Information". I'm using the XML-based backend if that matters. Thanks in advance, --Sean Noonan

Bad escaping in clients or DCS?

Hi, I tried to do proper escaping of text values when talking to DCS, but DQOUTE (") is driving me mad. As far as I can see from RFC2445 DQOUTE should not be escaped in text values, but I have several iCalendar files generated by Apple iCal which does escape " to \" ... so if I load such a calendar into DCS vobject adds another backslash when reading it out. The same behaviour is observed with Sunbird. .. Sunbird seems to escape to \" before doing PUT, but is not prepared to read the value back. I would say that the problem is that \" is essentially undefined bu RFC2445, since it says: " A BACKSLASH character (US-ASCII decimal 92) in a "TEXT" property value MUST be escaped with another BACKSLASH character." So when given \" python-vobject will think that is has an actual \ character (followed by ") in the data and need to escape it to \\ So ... either the clients needs to be fixed to not send \" or DCS should detect these unnecessary escape sequences and remove them before the event is stored. ... or (of course) I'm wrong and I messed up somewhere :) kind regards, Peter

Downloading ICS files

Hello all, I am new to the list and the calendar server. I am working in PHP and need to find a way to download a users calendar (so I can use the information). Currently, I am able to access a users entire calendar with the following request: /usr/bin/curl -X GET http://<server>/calendars/users/<username>/<calendar>/ -u <username>:<password> --digest -o <file location> This works great for my needs, but there can be a lot of data to parse through. 1. Is there a way to use this method to request a single day's .ics data? 2. Is there a way to retrieve a single week or month? 3. Can only events or todos be downloaded? Trying to get business partner to access account

I have set up my business partner in the accounts.xml file, but when she types in her user name and password and then using http://(my IP address):8080 she is getting a null 0 error. I am really new to this and I can't seem to find the answer. Also, when I enter the address in my firefox it comes right up and asks for user/password, and then lets me in to collection listings for principals/users/Daniel/ When I ask her to do the same on her computer, Firefox says it cannot find the location. I am thinking that I need to make it so that she can find my computer (like I said I am really new to this). Any help would be great. Thanks, Daniel

little bug

hello, here is a "bug" : when server is craching for any reason (for exemple no more power) after restarting, calendarserver doesn' t want to start anymore, beacause of a log problem... to make it start again, I have to manualy delete "caldavd-pydir.sock" and "caldavd.sock" any way to automat this ? jean

file attrs rebuild

/ Is there a tool that will rebuild the attrs for the calendar data directory in Linux? The reason I'm asking is I have a live calendar setup that has stopped working with errors like this: [AMP,client] Exception rendering: [AMP,client] Unhandled Error If I create a new data directory, i can connect, and create calendar items.
