Hi, I've installed and "first-configured" the CalendarServer as explained in the official quickstart guide "http://trac.calendarserver.org/wiki/QuickStart" and at the moment the server is up and running in my UbuntuServer(hary). As client, I decided to use Evolution; I've tried Sunbird but it crashes too frequently on my box :/. I read all the docs founded in the wiki without understanding several things: - how to setup directory's structure in "CalendarServer/twistedcaldav/" in a "well done" way. - What URLs should I use, in my client, to point to my calendars - how to manage users (is it possibile directly from evolution?) - how to create and manage calendars using the Evolution client( I tried to configure the caldav server in it without any success :( ). Is there any tutorial that covers this aspects? Thanks in advance, Zimo

Internal Server Error

Hi friends, I have developed the core and web framework for CALDAV client using python and twisted. But, I am facing some problem,, When I try to send a report to the calendar server for a month which has lots of events, it throws an internal server error. When I reduce the time window of the report to one day, so that it can only fetch events per day or when the No. of events are less and in my case, it's one per day, It works fine. Can anyone tell me what's the problem. Is there some problem with the server or is there any limit on the size of report. Thanks UHCop

iCal vs. Thunderbird event scheduling & notifications

I am trying to get iCal and Thunderbid/lightning working together in my office. The problem I am having is events created in Thunderbird are not being automatically sent to other users/attendee calendars. I am using custom LDAP directory service modules (http://trac.calendarserver.org/ticket/260 ). Could the problem be something wrong with the LDAP directory modules? Hello, The ifb file for compatibility might be a good idea but I think the biggest advantage of the report is that it lets you specify the date range. It also allows retrieving many FBs in one request. Which probably helps with client speed dealing with large meetings. freebusy file url

Hi, does CalServer expose a regular GET'able freebusy URL for calendars? like: GET /calendars/users/user01/calendar/freebusy.ifb maybe even a merged view on principals: GET /principals/__uids__/user01/freebusy.ifb I think that would be pretty nice. Kerberos fails with iCal (but authenticates in Firefox)

All -- I'm trying to get iCal to authenticate to caldavd using Kerberos, and as far as I can tell, it never tries: from the logs and traces, it appears that it accesses the given URL once without any authentication, then fails to retry based on the Www-authenticate: headers that it receives. iCal can connect with Digest authentication, and browsers (eg Firefox) can connect using Kerberos, both with no problems. Has anyone here gotten iCal's Kerberos authentication to work with Darwin Calendar Server? When running on Linux? Background: * caldavd (from dpkg, 1.2.dfsg-4) running on Debian 4.0 (2.6.18-6-xen-amd64, root filesystem using user_xattr). * When using digest authentication (and passwords in accounts.xml), Sunbird and iCal can access calendars, creating and removing appointments and tasks. Browsers (eg Firefox) can also log into protected URLs. * When using Kerberos authentication, Firefox can log into protected URLs (causing a new Kerberos ticket to appear within Kerberos.app), but iCal will return "Login Failed: Your password was rejected by the server julian.csail.mit.edu for the login calendartest." -- using an identical URL to the one that works in Firefox, <http://julian.csail.mit.edu:8008/principals/users/calendartest/> * Switching all URLs to https:// causes no change in behavior with any of the clients mentioned above (other than a radar bug I'd like to file as to iCal not trusting intermediate CAs, but I digress). * Using different machines and/or different kerberos principals reproduces the behavior with all clients. libevent not found during run script

Howdy, all - I already had CalendarServer running on my iMac G5 (PPC), but I have had a few issues and decided that it would be best to get the latest and greatest of the stable source code, so I checked out the latest source code this weekend and, when I tried to run the setup script, I found that I keep getting an error telling me that "libevent is required and must be installed." This error seems to occur during system checks that are done while building memchached. As it turns out, libevent is installed and I even went so far as to delete the libevent folder that was installed and let the setup script download and install it again. The setup script did, indeed, download and install it again, but the error again occurred during what appears to be the memchached build. Am I updating my installation in the wrong way? Are there other steps I should take before I checkout via svn? All I had done was use the following: svn checkout http://svn.calendarserver.org/repository/calendarserver/CalendarServer/trunk /Library/CalendarServer and then I ran the setup script: ./run -s Thanks - Conrad

leopard standards?

I just downloaded and setup the calendarserver. All is good. However, I find the run script a little odd in that it wants the caldevd-DEV.plist instead of just caldevd.plist. I can rewrite all this, that's not really a problem. However, I am running this on tiger server and I would like to set up the server in the same way it is installed on leopard so that when I finally get around to upgrading to leopard server, I don't end up with conflicting installations. Does anyone have a how-to for setting up the CalendarServer so that it matches Leopard's installation or at least can someone give me the pertinent info so that I can make it match? Attendes from Outside

Hi there, I'm running CalendarServer in the latest Version on my iMac for testing. Most is fine. May goal was to have in my calendar in ical the appointments both on my iMac and MacBook. Well and some other Calendars for resources. If I make new Appointment in the normal calendar (not stored on CalDAV) I can invite attendees without problem. If I start to type I get people out of the adressbook and mail sends perfect. But the first problem is when I schedule an appointment with 3 people from my company I have to type the email address like it is in teh accounts.xml that CalendarServer will notice them. If I just type the name or ID nothing will happen. The next problem is that I can't sent to an attendee from outside. Even if I drag an drop the vcard to my server based calendar. In the terminal I get a message that there was an error during post. I don't want to have to keep for one appointment 2 records one in the normal iCal calendar and one in the server based one. What do I wrong - or is it just not possible what I want? The next problem is that I want to delegate a calendar for reading to another person. It looks like it dosn't work with iCal. Kerberos Issue / Principals / Authentication

Hello, I'm having trouble getting Kerberos to run, it breaks when I do the ./ run script (could not start kerberos). All the directories under the XML service seem to set up okay, but access is denied even to admin/ admin logons from iCal 3.0 and anything else, and I suspect the Kerberos failure to be the issue. Please advise? BTW, logging in using Firefox to browse the directories works fine, it accepts the account uid/pwds from the accounts.xml file (which I've configured for use in the caldavd-dev.plist) in a pull-down dialogue box. It's using WebDAV/CalDAV clients that won't work for authentication. I get any mode of access denied or error 403 messages. When I check the server log output, it can't find principals for even "admin." After "No principal found for admin" it attempts to clone the __uids__/admin of resource <DirectoryPrincipalUIDPrivisioningResources....>. I tried manually building PyKerberos, and it referred me to do things in the kerberos.app that didn't work for me. The Edit-->Edit Realms didn't do anything, which means that Kerberos app isn't running right either. I could be wildly confused on this whole thing, so I apologize if I'm missing anything obvious here. The important thing is that I can't get anybody to authenticate when using a WebDAV/CalDAV client.
