Getting a stable version of Calendar Server?

Hi, I've tried to run Calendar Server several times from my OS X 10.5 (Leopard) machine. Often I can't even get it to start but today I got as far as seeing the first page generated. (It fails when I'm trying to access the first user principal though.) I was wondering if there is a stable version available for download that is more or less reliable at least for the basic functionality? Also what timezone can I expect people to answer on the #calendarserver IRC channel? (So far I haven't had any luck.) I have had CalendarServer installed and running for some time on OS X 10.5. How are the rules for the GUID?

Hi I just wondered if there are any specifications for the guid compared to the uid in the config files? Are there are any characters, which are not allowed, do I need a guid for every user/location/resource at all? Thanks Max

This is maybe a stupid question, but why would you do that? For my understanding, you set up the server in a specific environment, for example your office. Hi, I've just installed calendar server on OS X 10.5 (not server). I'm able to visit http://myip:8008 and subscribe any of those calendars with ical, but I've tried to create a calendar in ical and than publish it to http://myip:8008/admin and I did not succeed. Ical is giving me an error: "The server responded with HTTP/1.1 409 Conflict" The question is: How do set up a server where each user are able to write to the server their own calendars? Tying an XMLDirectoryService file to Kerberos/LDAP

Hello all, I'm curious about the XMLDirectoryService option in calendar server. Specifically, I'm interested in the "<accounts realm="Test Realm">" section of the file. Is this simply for naming purposes or does this allow one to specify an outside LDAP or Kerberos node to hand off the password duties and allow you to maintain accounts, locations and so forth in the XML file. If this is the intent, it would eliminate the need for an Open Directory server dedicated to hosting the principals and handing the passwords off to LDAP or kerberos. Installing CalendarServer Instructions

Is there a Wiki or similar on which to find/contribute information about installation of Calendar Server. It is definitely not an easy system to install, even on OS X. I've been running CalendarServer on 10.4 Server and 10.5 Client for about 2 years. I recent had to upgrade to the latest release (2.3) on the 10.5.8 client to maintain compatibility with the iPhone 3.1 Here are a few issues I ran into for which I can find no instructions, or what I did wrong which cause me to have to do the following after running ./run -i /. 1) the PYTHONPATH declared in the /usr/local/bin/caldavd was incorrect. It was "Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/:$PYTHONPATH" instead of "/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/:$PYTHONPATH" (note the missing slash at the beginning). I remember this being a problem 2 years ago and is still there. 2) After correcting item 1 the server would still not launch and the errors showed that something was looking for /usr/share/caldavd/bin/ twistd. I could not find where this was coming from so I solved this by 'ln -s /usr/local/bin /usr/share/caldavd' 3) The it still would not run. Looking at the logs again it was looking for memcached which is not installed on 10.5 client. I then downloaded and built memcached (and libevent which is required by memcached). Now things are running. I did a bunch of other things with the log files locations/permissions which have changed (I think) but they may also have been due to the above items being wrong/missing. If there was wiki/FAQ to which to post these that would be great. If this exists can you point me to it? Cheers, Scott D. XLM directoryservice not being cooperative?

Hello, I have recently installed calendarserver 1.2 on Debian lenny, client software being ical 3.0.8 running on Leopard. I have created two users in accounts.xml, as well as a group account that includes both of them. The SSL setup in caldavd.plist was a breeze. I kept an "empty" sudoers.plist, as I am not sure that I need that feature. Both individual users are happy campers: they can create calendars, add events, remove events. However, none of them seem to be able to interact with the other one. The kind of interaction I have been trying is delegation: ical preferences > accounts > delegation > edit > + > type "user1" > done leads to "cannot enable access to your account. "user1" was not found"". Same sort of problem when I create a new event, click on "add attendees", type "user1" and end up with an exclamation mark close to "user1".
