Hi, I'm very happy to somehow use CalendarServer-4.2 for CalDAV. Therefore I followed mostly the instructions of http://www.ronregev.com/misc/pim_server_tutorial/ - even if they are old. Following the steps depicted there I'm able to synchronize my calendars. But how can I configure address books with CalendarServer? I did not find nothing for this topic. For the sake of completeness I add here, what I did for the calendars: On my server I made svn co https://svn.calendarserver.org/repository/calendarserver/CalendarServer/tag… cd CalendarServer-4.2 ./run -s Copied CalendarServer-4.2/conf/caldavd-test.plist to CalendarServer-4.2/conf/caldavd-dev.plist and changed in caldavd-dev.plist internal IP addresses and BindAddresses as written in http://www.ronregev.com/misc/pim_server_tutorial/. Then I changed CalendarServer-4.2/conf/auth/accounts-test.xml that it now reads <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>  <!DOCTYPE accounts SYSTEM "accounts.dtd"> <accounts realm="Test Realm"> <user> <uid>admin</uid> <guid>admin</guid> <password>PASSWORD</password> <name>Administrator</name> </user> <user> <uid>MYUID</uid> <guid>MYUID</guid> <password>PASSWORD</password> <name>Stefan Bollmann</name> <first-name>Stefan</first-name> <last-name>Bollmann</last-name> </user> <group> <uid>group01</uid> <guid>group01</guid> <password>group01</password> <name>Group 01</name> <members> <member type="users">user01</member> </members> </group> </accounts> admin password was changed. now cd ~/calendar/CalendarServer ./run Then I opened iCal-> Preferences->Accounts tab->+ and configured an account with user name, password and server address with ssl like in accounts-test.xml. Now everything works fine with this calendar, I can change it on clients and everythings fine. I did not do the guid things described in http://www.ronregev.com/misc/pim_server_tutorial/. But here the applicability of the Howto ends... Production deployment on Ubuntu 11.04

Hello, I am able to get the new version of calendarserver up and running from source no problem, but it seems that it has changed quite a bit since the version that is shipped with Ubuntu 11.04 (using postgres and memcached). There does not seem to be any init script shipped with the source for debian based versions, nor are there any instructions for deploying in a production environment. Just some notes in the README that says that run.sh should not be used in a production environment. Can anyone shed some light on this? Sincerely, Dennison

PAM/Dovecot authentication

Hi All, I'm pretty new to calendarserver ( and CalDav ), but I'm really interested. I want to connect the whole thing to a working system on a linux with dovecot/mysql. Is it possible to use the dovecot auth, mysql auth or any pam auth with the calendar server? If just for the user auth, than be it, I would install an LDAP for the other things. Users and Groups from AD

I am currently trying to configure calendarserver to pull users and groups from Microsoft Active Directory and I am having a hard time figuring out the schema that is required for the mapping to the calendar server filed names. The documentation (http://trac.calendarserver.org/wiki/ConfiguringLDAP) does not clarify it for me either. Are the definitions one for one in the RFC (I have not read through that yet)? For example: <key>users</key> <dict> <key>rdn</key> <string></string>  <key>attr</key>  <string>uid</string> <key>emailSuffix</key>  <string></string> <key>filter</key> <string></string>  </dict> Thanks for any help! Permissions for group calendars

Hello all, I am having some problems setting permissions for principals on group calendars and was hoping someone could help me out. I would like to set permissions on groups to groups like so: ./bin/calendarserver_manage_principals -f ./conf/caldavd.plist --add-write-proxy groups:Domain\ Admins groups:Domain\ Users but this fails with: Error: Unable to edit write proxies for "Domain Users" (groups:Domain Users) I can however set permissions on users to groups like so: ./bin/calendarserver_manage_principals -f ./conf/caldavd.plist --add-write-proxy groups:Domain\ Admins users:example_user I am also wondering what the best practice is for creating a group calendar? Would I create it in my calendar client (all oof our users use lightening with Thunderbird) and then export it to a group path on the calendar server (https://calendarserver:8443/calendars/groups/groupname/new_calendar.ics)?
