weird logging behavior

Hi list, we are on Mac OSX Lion server ( 10.7.4 ) and here is a snippet from our logfile /var/log/caldavd/access.log. We would like to know why first time we get a entry with the correct username, but second time a empty string for the same user? It's a little bit confusing, because we run a wallboard for monitoring the usage on our server and the 'top ten' users, but the empty string is not so nice ;) I removed the ip address and the UUID, but both has the same values in the original logfile. Exception thrown when using chained certificates

Hi, I finally managed to get Calendar Server (version 4.2) to run on my Mac (10.7.5). It runs without problems if I use a self-signed certificate. However, I wanted to go a step further, and introduce my root and intermediate certificates in the process. However, the server fails with the output listed at the end of this message. Mail gateway didn't find an ORGANIZER in REPLY

Hi List, after solving the first problem now we have another question. Or does this mean there is no organizer in the *.ics file? Thank you... any help is appreciated here... So it sounds like delegation and proxies are the same thing? This seems to be working... and iCal calendar sharing seems to be some other system. In iCal users can right click a calendar to share it with others in an easy way.... The calendars will end up being shared but then when I try and un-share it nothing happens and the shares remain... I would like to ether get it working properly or find a way to disable it completely because users are going to try using it regardless and I'm going to be stuck with users that have shared calendars and have no way to un-share without deleting there calendars. Sharing Calendars

Hello, I'm having issues with calendar sharing... I can share calendars but I am unable to un-share or resend invitations... I have suspected a permissions issue but I can't find any. Could someone please tell be the difference between sharing and delegation, proxies... delegation in ical client seems to be working just sharing does not. Also where are the shares located in the database? I would at least like to be able to manual un-share. Thank you for any help.

Using Locales

Hi, I've got calendarserver 4.2 up and running but I'm having issues with locales... I've edited the the caledndarserver.po with my translations and then convert to calendarserver.mo sudo msgfmt calendarserver.po -o calendarserver.mo When I send external invitations I see my translations... so it's working... but if I use any non ascii characters I calendarserver will crash. The document is utf-8... any ideas? Problems with sharing calendars

Hello, I have calendarserver 4.2 setup and it's working but I'm having issues with calendar sharing... I can share a calendar in iCal and it will send an invitation the the user but I can't un share it or remove users after it's been shared. I also can't resend invitation is the user initially declines an invitation and I am unable to ever send that user a new invitation. I don't really see any errors in the logs... has anyone else experienced this... How can I begin to debug the problem ? Thank for any help :)

Unable to have a stable setup for CalendarServer 4.2

Hi, I’m Yoann. It’s my first message here so a little brief about me. I’m a OS X Server System Administrator and Trainer, actually working on a FreeBSD based setup for a simple services provider infrastructure. I plan to use the calenderserver project for CalDAV and CardDAV instead of the easy to use SOGo to run a server more close as possible to the RFCs. I successfully setup the 4.2 release with a LDAP and a PostgreSQL backend on a FreeBSD 9.1 64 bits processor. It was a pain because the 4.2 didn’t handle well the 64 bits socket descriptors but I’ve add some fixes for that. That was the same with de dependencies, a lot of things seems to be unstable on 64bits, so I install the requirements by my own and run it with a -nr to don’t use built-in deps. By the way, the behavior to install all deps in .. fold is really unusual and put a big mess… But what ever. It seems to look like a working config at the end. I can run the server, authenticate my self, if I enable the principals navigation I can see all my users, I can connect iCal and use it. Well, it’s work. But, after some times, the server seems to by buggy, I start to make time outs for request, or for opening sockets, or sometime it rework again… Really random behavior and not at lot of interesting things in logs… To have a idea, all my services, caldavd included are under nagios monitoring, I get something like 20 alerts per day about CalendarServer in a critical state… Anyone can give me a clue about what to look ? What can be the source of the problem ? How to troubleshooting it ? Best regards, Yoann.

Linux / DCS Install and Query

Hi, Ive just recently completed a darwin calendar server running on ubuntu 11.10 install and im willing to share the processes i went through to get it up and running, however i would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction of where to put it so its accessible to all. Secondly im looking into a read only version of the calendar server, however on testing i've noticed that the contact is still written to the client address book even though the server is untouched, is there anyway of preventing this so that the user doesn't have the illusion they have written something to the server i.e disabling the edit button or leaving the card untouched if an edit is attempted.
