While both 3.x and 4.x still support a flat-file (non-postgres) backend, it is not recommended for production, and exists only for testing purposes. 3.x and 4.x should both default to using a database backend. Just to confirm, you imported CalendarServer/txdav/common/datastore/sql_schema/current.sql, right? New installation question

Hi everyone, I just tried installing CalendarServer 4.2 on a test machine and using XML Directory Service. I'm using the defaults coming with the installation (caldav-test.plist, accounts-test.xml, resources-test.xml). I'm able to login successfully, create events, invite other users, but I can't invite Locations or Resources… iCal doesn't lookup at all, which doesn't work really in production. How does one use the Locations and Resources? Thanks in advance Pascal

Addressbook groups

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with iCal and calendar server 3.2... Ubuntu 12.10 32bit I have to do everything twice before anything will stick in the iCal Client... if I create an event at 12:00pm and then move it to 1:00 it will jump back to 12:00... then if I move it again it will stay at 1:00 In the logs I am seeing PUT PUT PUT GET when the events jump back to it's last position and just PUT when they stick like they should. It happens for deleting, inviting etc... Anyone seen this before?

Permissions problem?

I've had a calendar server running happily for years with no problems. Recently - since restoring my virtual server - it has stopped working. seting iMIP SMTP login info

Hello, I have Calendar server 3.2 up and running well (I can't manage to get 4.2 running on Ubuntu 12.10)... I can share calendars but I'm having problem inviting external users and iMIP is setup. I can see in the logs that the calendarserver seems to be trying to use the users email address as a login name for sending invitations though SMTP but our mail server does not use the (user(a)domain.com) as a login only (USER NAME). How can I set the user name and pasword to be used for sending iMIP invites? Setting my server allow the user(a)domain.com login format is an option but it would be a huge headache... Also I see a French translation in locals.... but I can't seem to activate it... any ideas? Thank you in advance...
