Hello all, I'm trying to figure out how to migrate calendar service data from a 10.8 OSX Server to a new 10.8 OSX Server installation. I've been trying to use the 70_calendarmigrator.py script, and have had varying success just getting it to find the caldav.plists from the previous server. Has anyone successfully migrated from 10.8 to 10.8? Q: Usable docs for installing/configuring calendar and contacts server?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to get a CalDAV and CardDAV server running on Ubuntu 12.04LTS and following many recommendations on the web, I wanted to do this with the Darwin calendar and contacts server. But I can't find usable documentation on the configuration of this package anywhere - nothing more that a few howto-like posts explaining how to setup very specific configurations without explaining in any more detail why you should do what they're saying. I'm actually astonished to encounter a seemingly widely-used open-source software without even the most basic description of the layout of configuration files or the available commands/options etc. Therefore, I'm trying my luck here: I wanted to use the calendarserver included in Ubuntu 12.04 (which, if the package version is correct, installs calendarserver 2.4) to get the follwing setup: * A small number of users, each with a personal calendar, plus one calendar sahred by the whole group * A small number of CardDAV address books, readable and writable by either the whole group of users or just a single one Can anybody tell me how to configure the various files to archieve this setup. Should I use the 2.4 version provided by Ubuntu or should I go and install a newer version from the repository (and if the latter, how do I go about it after downloading the files)? Any pointers to a more complete documentation I might have missed are very much appreciated, too. Thank in advance for any help on clearing up my confusion. :-) Cheers, Pit

calendar server data reset?

Hi, I run Calendar Server 3.2 with PostgreSQL and LDAP, and I've managed to hose my setup. I wanted to reset everything back to a clean slate, so I dropped the SQL database and created a fresh one from the schema file. Unfortunately now the users that had used calendars with the previous database cause an HTTP 500 when they try access their calendars. I've also noticed all the proxy principals I had setup are still there, so I guess Calendar Server must be storing data somewhere I don't know about. Please could someone help me fix or reset everything back to a fresh install state? Thanks in advance! Regards, Aragon

Calendarserver not recognized by Apple Calendar

Hi, I set up calendarserver on a Raspberry Pi. I can connect to it using an iPad and I can see the appropriate data in my web browser. Apple Calendar (OSX 10.8.4) however works for 30 seconds, then says "can not create a connection". During those 30 seconds, the Raspberry Pi is running a Python process for the caldavd user at full CPU utilization. So I'm guessing that Apple Calendar has an internal timeout of 30 seconds and the Raspberry Pi is not fast enough to send the calendar data in that time frame. iMIP attendee response not updated on clients

Hi, Running Calendar Server on OS X 10.8.4 and iCal clients on OS X 10.6.8. I have internal events working. External iMIP events get sent out, and it appears that they're also fetched from the email account - but iCal doesn't update the events. Server's own mail service is off. Our email is hosted by gmail (Google Apps for Business). Steps to recreate: Create event and invite an external invitee (masked as xxxxx(a)yahoo.com) Gmail shows the event was sent out Yahoo receives the event, and Yahoo's webmail allows to respond to caldav events. Gmail receives the caldav response from yahoo The response gets marked as read on its own, indicating that Calendar Server polled the account Organizer's iCal doesn't update with the invitee's response. (Just an exclamation mark next to the invitee's email) I enabled debug logging on the server and client and scoured the logs. I was unable to pinpoint a problem - from my limited understanding, everything appears ok from the server's perspective. On the client's iCal logs I just see that in all the client's DAVGETs, PARTSTAT for the attendee is NEEDS-ACTION instead of ACCEPTED. I'm testing with Yahoo mail since it supports iMIP, but we see the same behavior from Outlook attendees. Hi Team, Could you please let me know the differences between an Apple Calendar directly mapped to a person VS resource calendar. Currently we have developed one wrapper API in Java which is used to create calendar events and modify calender events, and we are using an calDav account linked to a person to test this service. Possible approach to send email reminder

Hello everyone, I'm checking out approaches to send email reminders from the server. So far theoretically I've come up with 3 approaches : 1. We can add a daemon on server, which will access all user's calendars using the authentication of Admin principal and find out all the email reminders to be sent. It will then set this data in some other database table for another daemon to send out the email reminders. 2. We can add a daemon on server, which will directly read reminder information from the database and pass it on to another daemon to send out email reminders. 3. We can add a database trigger which gets fired while adding/updating an event - this database trigger will add reminder information to another database table - say reminder table. A separate reminder daemon will read the information from the new reminder table and send out emails. As I do not have a fair knowledge of design and implementation of DCS, I cannot judge which approach will be technically possible as well as matching with the design of DCS. So pls provide feedback whether I'm thinking along correct direction or I need to think something different. Thanks in advance, Amol.
