That looks correct.  I wonder if somehow the server’s notion of their availability differs from what the UI is showing.

You can use a web browser to inspect the availability settings by browsing to...

    https://[servername]:8443/calendars/users/[username]/inbox/

(You’ll need to log in as that user, or you should be able to view that using your own account as long as that user has delegated to you)

...and scrolling down to the {http://calendarserver.org/ns/}calendar-availability section.  In there you should see something like:

BEGIN:AVAILABLE
UID:F2D88509-9769-4824-85AA-BD81D466AFBD
DTSTAMP:20130610T162614Z
DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20130510T080000
RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;BYDAY=MO,TU,WE,TH,FR
DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20130510T180000
END:AVAILABLE
See if the DTSTART and DTEND times (following the T, e.g 080000 = 8am) and the timezones are what you expect.

You should also have the user modify their availability via iCal and then make sure that change is reflected in the calendar-availability section you see in the browser.

Hi Morgen,

not sure if you had time to take a look on the screenshot. Just wanted to know if this is our problem, or not. For me this looks not too restrictive, or am I wrong?

Thanks,
Sirko

For me this lokks ok, but please have a look by yourself:

This first screen grab is for an Exchange Server account.

https://31337deadbeef.cc/general.png

This second screen grab with "Day starts at…" shows the configuration for how the UI draws the start and end of the day.

Neither of these has any affect on someone's availability on the OS X Server based calendars.

Could it be their "Availability" settings for their account -- configurable in iCal's Accounts > Account Information pane -- are set to hours that are too restrictive?

I tried to add a event far in the future ( 2015 ) but it always shows that she is unavailable, every day..

a co-worker is having an issue where anyone who tries to send an invite
sees the calendar as constantly busy. We have a Mac OS X server ( version
10.7.4 ) and no error to see in the logfiles. This problem exists since
she came back from vacation. What could be the cause of this? Any
suggestions would be appreciated :)

Check to see whether that person has all-day events on their calendar for the period they are busy, and see if those are marked to show them as busy.
