Some month ago (December or January) i've put on this ML a little howto on installing Darwin Calendar Server (DCS) on Linux with some elementary tests with Mozilla-Sunbird Client.
The reading (and writing) of DCS datas from Sunbird was OK.
Sunbird was running on Linux, but i think it has no functional differences on Windows.
I've used these instructions and they work as advertised... I'll just chime in to say that while I've had no problems with the Calendar Server that I'm aware of, Sunbird has proven to be a quirky and flaky client. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for production use yet. I also had some difficulty importing data from iCal to Sunbird. I'm not sure if this is a Sunbird bug/issue, or whether there is some variance in how clients follow the iCal/.ics spec? Apple people: any way that the new version of iCal will be released for Tiger? This would be a great way to really put the calendar server into motion, for those that may not be prepared to upgrade to Leopard once it hits the streets. Also, has there been any talk in developing a Ubuntu package, FreeBSD port, and/or Macports port of DCS yet?
We have been trying to get it working since our windows portion of the company took off with their Exchange server. I have not been able to find a calendar client program that has worked reliably in a Mac OSX Environment. We only have 5 users but the problem is that the mozilla clients (I have tried about 4 different mozilla calendar project clients.) do not reliably read the calendars. Mulberry has not been able to connect. I have not found any others (We are not part of the 10.5. program so we don't have access to the new iCAL). The only reliable reading tool I have found is my browser and then all I see is the iCal objects but nothing usable by out tech coordinator, or sales people.

Hi all
has anyone experiences in running Calendar Server in a productiv environment?
Our goal is to setup Calendar Server on a server, which serves as the calendaring backend for a web-application. As I am new to this area, I need some advices, to decide myself. Calendar Server seems not to have an official release yet, therefore my questions.
Some concrete questions: - Are the scheduling features (Invitation requests, ...) implemented and stable? - How does it scale? Where are the limits? Number of calendars, users?
Any other considerations regarding a production environmen?
Thanks in advance!
Andreas
