Alternate python location for centos 5
I installed the Darwin calendar server 2 as per Guy's instructions on "http://www.rho.cc/index.php/calendar-and-contact-server/59-calendar-setup/48..." (Thanks for that by the way, if you read this) Its a CentOS 5.4 machine. And having python 2.5 installed brakes all kinds of things other then just yum. Is there any way to have the calendar server get to python 2.5 as python25 so the rest of the system can still work? :) Thanks to all. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Alternate-python-location-for-centos-5-tp28404436p2840... Your welcome :) You can just search all the files and make sure they point to the python25 build rather than the default python. When installing the new python version you should find that the old one remains. So as long as you change the links you should be fine Btw what else breaks? I tend to only run calendar on a server on its own, and then change yum to point at the older version of python. ---Guy Sent from my iPad On 29 Apr 2010, at 21:15, nds <ndsharp@gmail.com> wrote:

It seems to break all the system-config-* tools. And probably anything that uses GTK. I am running my mail server from the same machine so I want those all to work still. BTW, you should update your guide to point to a newer version of setuptools. The one that I downloaded from the link had a conflict with python. But the latest version seems fine. Thanks for the info and the fast response. I guess I have to rebuild the CalendarServer now :). (I think thats what all the python scripts and doing anyway... building things) -- Nick On Apr 29, 2010 1:31pm, Guy <guy@britewhite.net> wrote:
