Hello: Based on the recent post that chrooted builds are working better if one uses the UFS Volume, I decided to give this project another try. The first step was to make another attempt at "libsecurity_utilities". installXcode3: cannot overwrite directory

When you try to "installXcode BuildRoot/" on an existing BuildRoot, you get many errors like the following one: cp: cannot overwrite directory BuildRoot///System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/Current with non-directory /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/Current The attached tiny patch for installXcode3 solves that by deleting the respective frameworks in the BuildRoot first before copying the ones from the host in. Feel free to apply the patch if you think it's useful.

xcodebuild requires version 150.0.0 or later, but CoreFoundation provides version 1.0.0

Please help me with a DarwinBuild error I keep getting. I have re-installed DarwinBuild from SVN, and initialized a fresh 9C31 build environment, which I then have populated with all available binary roots. I am able to build most projects successfully, but those that require xcodebuild keep throwing following error: Build log begins here: dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation Referenced from: /Developer/usr/bin/xcodebuild Reason: Incompatible library version: xcodebuild requires version 150.0.0 or later, but CoreFoundation provides version 1.0.0 I am running this on a Leopard system with Xcode 3 installed. I do *not* get this error when using -nochroot. Could this have anything to do with CF vs. CF-Lite? Thanks for your help.

The Darwin team has released binary versions of the following projects: AppleACPIPlatform AppleRTC IOATABlockStorage IOSCSIArchitectureModelFamily efiboot You can load them with darwinbuild like any other root. Building mach kernel for PowerMac QUAD

Does anyone have any experience building a mac kernel that will boot on a PowerMac QUAD? I've built xnu and it will boot a TI PowerBook G4 but I've not been able to get the kernel to boot on a PowerMac QUAD. Everything I've tried has not worked so I'm hopeful that someone on the list can provide some pointers. Thanks Rand

xcodebuild errors out because it cannot find a valid Xcode project

Hi List, I am getting an xcodebuild error when darwinbuild is trying to build IOKitUser because it cannot find the xcode project file. When am not chrooted I can run xcodebuild and it runs fine. I also chrooted by hand and tried and got the same error. Any ideas, I am new to darwinbuild. Thank you, Ryan
