Hi all, this is my first mail here, please correct if is not the right place to post this kind of informations. The current port of postfix doesn't work well, so I did some work trying to make it ok: Attached are: - a simple patch to postfix-script so it can correctly recognise folders permissions - a patch to the portfile which: * add cyrus support (this must be done explicitely in 2.3.X) * try to compile postfix against _system_ openssl and _macports'_ sasl2 * bump postfix version to 2.3.4 There's one unresolved issue, no matter if I explicitly compile it against system or macports version of openssl, I have this warning: ------ postfix/smtp[24927]: warning: run-time library vs. compile-time header version mismatch: OpenSSL 0.9.8 may not be compatible with OpenSSL 0.9.7 ------ Which means it compiles against system version of openssl and uses macports' one at run time. As a result I can't start a tls connection with any mailserver. After installation 2 files must be deleted (I don't know which is the best way to do this in the Portfile): /opt/local/var//spool/postfix/maildrop/.turd_postfix /opt/local/var//spool/postfix/public/.turd_postfix Please let me know what do you think about this, and forgive me if something is wrong because this is my first attempt to modify a port. Trac rights

I don't have rights to change ticket tickets, close tickets, etc, which I would like to do given some of my recent commits have fixed these things. How do I get those rights? Who handles them? Regards, Blair

svn up occasional SSL negotiation failure

Hi. I'm still trying to figure this thing out. I recently checked out a working copy of macports/trunk and have pointed my MacPorts installation at the dports directory instead of the normal rsync location, so I would like to update this working copy every once in awhile. Just now I ran "svn up" from the terminal and got this: $ svn up svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/repository/macports/trunk' svn: PROPFIND of '/repository/macports/trunk': SSL negotiation failed: SSL error: sslv3 alert bad record mac (https:// svn.macosforge.org) Doing "svn up" again right afterwards worked just fine. Admittedly I do sometimes have a crummy wireless network connection here which is prone to losing packets occasionally. But I thought the whole idea of TCP/IP was that it could withstand such things. Any comments?

Hi, I recently updated the ghc portfile to the latest release. A number of people have reported trouble building it, all apparently related to old versions of Xcode. A few of these users say they have applied all available software updates. Are new version of Xcode still being provided through Apple's Software Update, or do I need to direct them to the developer site to download the latest? Best, Greg

Permanently setting environment variables and other special stuff

Hi, I want to create a port for EiffelStudio ( http://eiffelsoftware.origo.ethz.ch ). In order to run it 3 environment variables need to be set ( I guess I should modify .bashrc for that), also PATH has to be modified, because it doesn't install in the standard Unix hierachy. So there's also the question where to install it, I guess /Applications/MacPorts/ would be the place, however EiffelStudio is an X11 Application. Is there a port that does things like that, which I could use as an example ? Setting svn:keywords on all Portfile's

It appears that in CVS we have automatic keyword substitution on $Id$, for example: $ head editors/xemacs/Portfile # $Id: Portfile,v 1.24 2006/06/09 23:18:02 blair Exp $ However, this isn't being updated in svn since the svn:keywords is not set. I committed to editors/xemacs/Portfile yesterday, but it's still showing the last commit in CVS. I propose setting svn:keywords to 'HeadURL Id LastChangedBy LastChangedDate LastChangedRevision' on all Portfiles, which will enable all five keywords that svn supports. Is anybody using the following strings in their Portfiles that would be replaced and modified by svn: $Author$ $Date$ $HeadURL$ $Id$ $LastChangedBy$ $LastChangedDate$ $LastChangedRevision$ $Rev$ $Revision$ $URL$ Any objections to this? math/R port

I submitted a new portfile for math/R a couple of weeks ago (that, among other things, fixes the problem below) and it still hasn't been committed. It's in trac as 10855. Hi all, should we change /Applications/DarwinPorts/ to /Applications/ MacPorts/ ? This is not a functional issue, it just would make the system a more consistent one. Hi, why not jump to 3.3.6 while we're at it? 3.3.4 just crashes on my MBP, whereas 3.3.6 runs fine and requires only one patchfile (patch- mkspecs-qmake.conf).
