First hit is to our home page; second hit is to, very appropriately, www.macports.org/install.php ; third is to (funny enough) our Wikipedia entry (which does not list darwinports.com anywhere!); fourth hit is to our online guide and fifth is to our Trac Wiki. New port needs commit -- replex

I have created a port for replex[1], see ticket #13664 Could someone please review and commit? Replex was created to remultiplex transport stream (TS) data taken from a DVB source. The result is supposed to be a program stream (PS) that can be used to be burned to a DVD (with dvdauthor). Replex can also remultiplex other PSs and AVIs with MPEG2 content. Error while installing swi-prolog5.6.48(macport 1.6)

I just update my macport to 1.6 and try to install swi-prolog under 1.6(which has some problem under macport 1.5). Recursive lipo wrapper

Hello, everybody. I thought you may find it useful. This script is used to glue up tho whole directory trees. Recommended way of creating universal binaries is compiling with "-arch ppc -arch i386". However, it is only applicable to (Objective-)C(++). This script aims to aid Universal Binary development in Ada. Programs in this beautiful language were distributed separatelly ppc and i386. You are free to use it in the way you like. Usage: lipo-r startdir "arch1 arch2 ..." unidir startdir must contain subdirectories named arch1, arch2, etc. Resuling directory tree will reside in unidir. For example: lipo-r cairo/out "ppc i386" cairo/out/uni My script handles : a) space-containing filenames b) symbolic links c) text and byte-compiled files are just copied Notice that lipo can glue up everything without any warning. Header files will be no longer usable, for example. I should probably match word "Mach-O", not "text" or "byte-compiled". I place the original script here because it worked for me. I've managed to build many packages this way. (I was glueing only install-exec files; make install-data was done separatelly). It's a working piece of code. You are free to improve it if you like. My script does not handle : a) when directory trees are not identical b) files that are neither Mach-O nor text nor byte-compiled (images, for example) It will glue them up. Support .dmg disk images as distfiles with new use_dmg option

I'd like MacPorts to support distfiles in .dmg disk image format, in addition to the .tar.gz, .tar.bz2 and .zip formats currently supported. I spent some time working on this tonight and came up with an implementation that works for me. It's my first bit of hacking in MacPorts base, though, so I'd appreciate any and all feedback, both on the idea and the implementation. destroot.violate_mtree and warning during install

Hi, I updated the ntfs-3g and added destroot.violate_mtree yes because it installs a file into /sbin (which is necessary). Now a user reported to me he gets the following warning during install: ---> Fetching ntfs-3g ---> Verifying checksum(s) for ntfs-3g ---> Extracting ntfs-3g ---> Configuring ntfs-3g ---> Building ntfs-3g with target all ---> Staging ntfs-3g into destroot Warning: ntfs-3g requests to install files outside the common directory structure! ---> Installing ntfs-3g 1.1120_0 ---> Activating ntfs-3g 1.1120_0 ---> Cleaning ntfs-3g Is this okay or did I miss anything? Trac tickets and the "Infrastructure" components

(a mail I just sent to mp-users): Our "New ticket" form up at trac.macports.org had a ticket component of "Infrastructure" to classify requests to our Mac OS Forge host on hosting and server side functionality related issues. Such naming was clearly not very understood and a lot of people have been filing regular tickets pertaining to our ports and/or MacPorts functionality under this component. Due to this confusion we have renamed it to "server/hosting" to make its intent clearer, and no non-team members should be using it as reports against any of our ports and/or MacPorts itself do not belong there (and reports against Mac OS Forge server side functionality should be discussed first with team members, or with PortMgr members to be precise, before being filed as a "server/ hosting" ticket). So, basically, as this message explains and our ticketing guidelines at http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets also make clear, that's a "hands-off" component ;-) Thank you for your cooperation!
