Change in mail routine for @macports.org addresses
As part of ongoing spam-fighting efforts, mail to our @macports.org addresses is now being routed through the main apple email servers in order to better filter out spam. Please let us know if you see any adverse effects from this change. James

I'm not sure, but I just received a mail from noreply@macports.org with the following content. Not sure if this has anything to do with it: The special maintainers identified by nomaintainer@macports.org and openmaintainer@macports.org are described on the MacPorts wiki at <http://trac.macports.org/projects/macports/wiki/SpecialMaintainerAddresses>. Please read that page for more information about those maintainers. Thanks, Simon -- + privacy is necessary + using http://gnupg.org + public key id: 0x6115F804EFB33229

You should receive mail from that address only if you sent mail to openmaintainer@macports.org or nomaintainer@macports.org. Is that what you did? Or did you send mail elsewhere? James

It's also possible a spam email used Simon's address as the From: address, to which the auto-responder replied. - Kevin

Hi James, I sent no emails to any non-existent macports.org email, only to the mailing lists and other macports.org users. I only replied so I don't think I mistyped something. But as it's only one mail, I think it isn't a problem. Just wanted to make sure you know of it. Thanks, Simon -- + privacy is necessary + using http://gnupg.org + public key id: 0x6115F804EFB33229
