Documentation on Portfiles
This has probably been asked before, but where can I find the documentation on authoring Portfiles? A quick search pulls up the legacy opendarwin.org site references but it either no longer is available or is down. I've got most of it down by looking at other Portfiles but I want a good understanding. Paul.

Paul.
You can find the [sources][1] in the subversion repository, but I don't know if there is a html version at the moment. An improved macports homepage is still in work. So I generated a html file from the docbook sources and uploaded it at my [homepage][2] (filesize 200KiB). The documentation is a bit out of date because of the move from opendarwin.org to macports.org, so the links are still pointing to opendarwin.org but the content you search is there. Hope this helps, Simon [1]: http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/browser/trunk/doc [2]: http://ruderich.com/macports.html - -- + privacy is necessary + using http://gnupg.org + public key id: 0x6115F804EFB33229 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (Darwin) iD8DBQFGXf3dYRX4BO+zMikRCgYqAJ9v/Y6U7wSafRfbC5Rw30JLb1P2TwCePOdD Cz1pWU388p6G/rR56d7ZzV4= =ibj5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

You can also find the old documentation in the Internet Archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20060525002549/darwinports.org/docs/
Simon, thanks for the docs that's exactly what I was looking for. Paul. Simon Ruderich wrote:
