/Applications/DarwinPorts -> /Applications/MacPorts
If no one has any objections, I would like to complete the following no later than 14 Feb 2007: Change every reference to /Applications/DarwinPorts to /Applications/ MacPorts in every relevant Portfile. I would like to begin working on this on 11 Feb 2007. Randall Wood rhwood@mac.com "The rules are simple: The ball is round. The game lasts 90 minutes. All the rest is just philosophy."

Sounds good to me. Regards, Blair

I'm all for it. I'm just curious what happens to users who have already installed ports that write into /Applications/DarwinPorts. Do those apps will just stay there until the next time they're upgraded, at which point they would get upgraded into /Applications/MacPorts?
Sounds good. While you're at it, it would be nice if you could sweep up some of the other references to DarwinPorts which only make things more confusing (in fact, I would love the dports subdirectory to be just renamed to "ports" - a small difference, sure, but I'm sure it will save future generations from wondering what in the heck that 'd' is supposed to stand for). - Jordan On Jan 29, 2007, at 8:42 PM, Randall Wood wrote:

Any users with Subversion checkouts of the ports tree will need to be informed when such a rename takes place, so they will know to switch their working copies to the new path.

Only upgrades or new installations would notice the change. Existing installations would be unaffected until such time as an upgrade happens. Randall Wood rhwood@mac.com "The rules are simple: The ball is round. The game lasts 90 minutes. All the rest is just philosophy."
Make sure to change the reference in the xcode PortGroup as well. On Jan 29, 2007, at 11:42 PM, Randall Wood wrote:
