I posted this question to the users list on Monday but received no reply. I'd like to work/play with the stackless (www.stackless.com) variant of python. How hard would it be for me to create a variant of the mac ports python25 installer that installs an independent copy of python25 with the stackless additions from http://www.stackless.com and the relevant svn repository? The macports file tree appears to be straightforward, altho I haven't found a road map. -Mike

I would probably make sense to make a separate port (based off of the python25 port) if you want to be able to install them at the same time. You could check out the old an new guides (new guide in progress and will eventually replace the old one). http://geeklair.net/macports_guide/ http://geeklair.net/new_macports_guide/ Between them and the portfile manpage, you should be able to get started figuring it out. -- Daniel J.
