I will confess that I haven't tried manually disabling it in the port to verify that it still builds, since I'm not sure how to do that. Note that this bug also applies to wine-devel. Seems to me port tries to fetch binaries (according to url) so I tried port -s but same problem (same url...). Asking on #couchdb, they seem to believe it's an issue the macports version, and that they have heard this before. CouchDB servers installed from source work fine.
