The reason seems to be that the Portfile has this: {{{ PERL_PATH="/usr/bin/env perl" }}} which causes trouble when git-instaweb does this: {{{ PERL='/usr/bin/env perl' ... Well it wasn't hung and as much as I can tell from the log the port doesn't like my environment or something. My computer is a PowerBook 867 MHz running 10.4.11 (fully patched) with the German language UI. MacPort 1.6 is installed and works. I verified this by installing slrn.
