But if I try to save an HDR image as a .exr it crashes. I can save with no problem as an .hdr. And if I convert an image to .exr using another tool, then qtpfsgui can open it. So it is able to find and use openexr for reading but not for writing. The following appears in my system.log when the crash happens: Oct 23 09:42:10 adamsmacbook-3 [0x0-0x91091].qtpfsgui[7812]: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Iex::EaccesExc' Oct 23 09:42:10 adamsmacbook-3 [0x0-0x91091].qtpfsgui[7812]: what(): Cannot open image file "�Q9". Permission denied. (Yes, those odd characters are the same as what appear in my system.log file for the file name....) I can post the full crash report that is generated if that might help. I am not sure if this is a more general problem with qtpfsgui, but I did search and didn't find other references to this problem, so I think that it might be specific to the MacPort version. The attached patch updates the build process to do so. The only drawback is the manpage is missing from this tarball (a ticket has been filed with the sqlite3 project), but as Mac OS X provides its own manpage, I don't think this is a big issue. Using the amalgamation tarball gives two benefits. The first is, according to the sqlite3 documentation, this should give a performance increase to the sqlite3 library. The second is using this makes it easy to enable the FTS3 module, which is now provided via the +fts3 variant. Here is the commit message I wrote: {{{ Update the build process for sqlite3 Convert sqlite3 to use the amalgamation tarball. Not only is this strongly encouraged by the sqlite3 project, it is also suggested that this could show a performance improvement. Update the configure flags. The amalgamation tarball means --disable-tcl is no longer necessary. The readline flags have been updated into --enable-readline and READLINE_LIBS. --enable-load-extension has been removed as it was renamed (but a bug in the configure script makes it unusable). The lines "`distname mp3fs-${version}`" and "`livecheck.distname mp3fs`" should be removed because those are the default values. 2. pkgconfig should be marked as a build dependency, not a library dependency. 3. Patchfiles should not reside on your personal web space; they should instead be copied to the port's files directory. 4. The string "`/opt/local`" should usually not occur in a portfile, because MacPorts might be installed in a different prefix. Use the variable "`${prefix}`" instead. 1, 2, and 3 were fixed by Jeremy in r46512. 4 was partially fixed in that revision but one occurrence of /opt/local remained, so the port still doesn't work if the prefix is not /opt/local. Some additional points that occur to me now: 5. Your configure arguments should not be appended to "`configure.post_args`" but instead should be written to "`configure.args`" and there is no need to enclose them in quotes. 6. There is no need to use "`master_sites sourceforge:mp3fs`"; if the SourceForge project name is the same as the port name you can just say "`master_sites sourceforge`" 7. You should not put ${distfiles} into the checksums. It is unnecessary if ${distfiles} contains only a single file, as it does in this case, and it is a syntax error if it contains multiple files. I'll attach a patch to fix these remaining issues.
