One note: the previous nmh port (1.4) linked against the MacPorts version of cyrus-sasl2. I don't know if I specifically tested that back when the 1.4 version went in, but I tested that this time and I discovered that it does NOT work with Kerberos (the cyrus-sasl port doesn't work with the credential cache used by MacOS X). I've been linking against the MacOS X-supplied Cyrus SASL libraries forever, and there have been no problems with it. So this Portfile does not have port:cyrus-sasl2 as a dependency. The bug with a fix was reported against nmh 1.4 here: http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?35242 and this patch suggested with the problem report: http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=24742 fixes my problem using post. Please consider adding this patch to the client.c file. To reproduce: * 'port install nmh' * edit the /opt/local/etc/mts.conf file to change the 'servers: localhost' line to your local smtp gateway like: 'servers: smtp.example.com' where smtp.example.com is listening for smtp submissions on port 25. * Use the commands: 'install-mh' to create your nmh mail folder and .mh_profile properly. * Use the 'comp' command to edit a new message to send somewhere. * Save the file in the editor. * At the 'what now?' prompt, use 'send -watch -verbose' and you will get an error like: {{{ post(92684) malloc: *** error for object 0x100102a3a: pointer being freed was not allocated set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug send: message not delivered to anyone }}} To fix, update the Portfile to patch the nmh-1.4/sbr/client.c file with the patch given in the download.php URL given in this message. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/33143> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

Now version 2.28 (with some important support for additional file formats) is available upstream and it would be great to have it on macports. Changelog: Nanoscantech (new): Imports NanoScanTech .nstdat files. TIA SER (new): Imports FEI Tecnai imaging and analysis .ser files. DM3 (new): Imports Digital Micrograph DM3 TEM images (only greyscale data at present). PID (new): Simple simulation of PID loop effects during scanning. Lateral force (new): Simulation of lateral force from topography channel. Neural network (new): Neural network data processing. XY denoise (new): Data denoising based on horizontal and vertical scans. WIP: Spectral transformation for Raman data was fixed and swapped XY axes in datafields were really fixed. Zeiss: Files without key-value pairs in tag 34118 are recognised and loaded. Other Compatibility with libpng 1.5 was corrected.
