In Lion, Apple switched their Kerberos implementation from MIT Kerberos to Heimdal. However, MacPorts' /opt/local/bin/kinit is still MIT Kerberos. As a result, keys created by /opt/local/bin/kinit are not visible by /usr/bin/klist, whereas keys created by /usr/bin/kinit are not visible by /opt/local/bin/klist. In order to smooth Kerberos authentication, I propose that cyrus-sasl2 depend on the Heimdal port on Lion and later. This will make it so that MacPorts programs can use the same credentials cache as Apple's kerberos utilities. My proposal would consist of three patches: 1. heimdal: change prefix from ${prefix}/libexec/heimdal to ${prefix} and add a conflict with kerberos5 2. kerberos5: add a conflict with heimdal 3. cyrus-sasl2: kerberos variant depends on kerberos5 on darwin <= 10, and heimdal on all other platforms As I have conceived them, these three patches would have to go through at the same time. Right now, I will attach just the cyrus-sasl2 patch. This is a result of libpython2.5.a being a symlink to ../../../Python, thereby crossing a symlinked directory: /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5 points to /opt/local/lib/python2.5. Traversing this symlinked directory manually is no problem, but the symlinked file is broken. I am trying to run an application (GRASS) and the new version (6.4 is the development version that will be released soon) requires the "Aqua framework" Tk. I tried rebuilding Tk with +quartz. But the binary application that I am trying to use (one piece of GRASS) is not finding the correct libraries, because it is looking for frameworks. The person who does the binaries suggested that I install the ActiveTcl distribution, but that seems silly, given that I already have the MacPorts TclTk installed. So, I am wondering if there is any way to make this installation work? Is there something that can be done with Tk to have it also build frameworks? There is a "--enable-frameworks" flag as part of TclTk.
