#40658: flac @1.2.1 upgrade to 1.3.0 ----------------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: james.george@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: update | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.2.0 Keywords: haspatch | Port: flac ----------------------------+-------------------------------- I have created a patch to the flac @1.2.1 port to retrieve and install flac 1.3.0 from its new home at xiph.org. One of the patches from the old 1.2.1 port no longer applies and didn't seem relevant so I've removed it from the patchfiles list, though it still exists, commented out in the diff. Built and tested locally and it worked for me - 10.8.5 XCode5 MBP. Also built the xmms_plugin variant, though didn't test it. FLAC 1.3.0 doesn't bring much new other than a few bug fixes and improved handling of high bit rate files. This will work for those kde apps that can compile with mobile profiled kdelibs4, such as Calligra. Patches are inherited from meego project. Exiting! }}} So, apparently it can't connect to the dbus session. However, I have a session started (as per the instructions given in {{{port notes dbus}}}) and other programs, like Inkscape, connect to it just fine. As it states at http://mac.kde.org/?id=download , if QuickTime can't play it, phonon can't play it. The solution is to install the Xiph (ogg) QuickTime component (http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/) to allow QuickTime to play ogg files. Installing Perian (http://perian.org/) wouldn't hurt, either. There should be a note during the port install process saying that this step is necessary since much of KDE's audio is in ogg format.
