#37450: expect 5.45 + libnewt 0.52.14 error on upgrading Tcl & Tk --------------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: phildobbin@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.1.2 Keywords: | Port: --------------------------+-------------------------------- When running selfupdate scanning binaries found: 'Scanning binaries for linking errors: 9.9% Could not open /opt/local/lib/libtcl8.5.dylib: Error opening or reading file (referenced from /opt/local/bin/expect)' This was after running port upgrade outdated & involved the ports Tcl & Tk (Tcl 8.5.13 -> 8.6.0_1 & Tk the same) amongst others. The package manager went on to try to rebuild the ports expect, libnewt & Vim & failed on all but Vim which was uninstalled & then re-installed. The original Vim was compiled with the +tcl variant & the subsequent rebuild excluded it. Attached are four patches to fix these. The patches are against SVN checkout on 7 Feb 2013. I've tried it with both the mysql-odbc-connector port and my psqlODBC port (still [https://trac.macports.org/ticket/31282 waiting to be approved]). I can connect to the data sources using the MacPorts unixODBC isql client without issue, so this is definitely a problem in pyodbc. I *think* this was previously working under Snow Leopard, but I can't be sure and I don't have a system running that anymore. I got a hint to the problem from a [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7881985/using-alternate-unixodbc- installation Stack Overflow question/answer] that led me to a solution. Attached are an updated Portfile and a new setup.py.patch that adds MacPorts library and include paths to the build process. Alas, I've also included an upgrade to pyodbc 2.1.11. The current version (2.1.8) is quite old and I couldn't see how to accomplish what I needed to do against the old codebase. This can break the build of software that uses libpcre (especially when building with warnings as errors). This only started happening recently, maybe around MacPorts 2.1.3. I get the error shown below. It's strange because when I look at the restore location, I can see half my files have restored so it looks like a timeout or some hard limit is being reached.
