If you install qgis without installing qt4-mac- sqlite3-plugin, the following error appears upon launching qgis: {{{"Unable to open bookmarks database. Database: [user path]/.qgis2//qgis.db"}}}. This error is fixed upon installing port qt4 -mac-sqlite3-plugin.
