However, running the latest gnuplot results in dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libgobject-2.0.0.dylib Referenced from: /opt/local/bin/gnuplot Reason: Incompatible library version: gnuplot requires version 4401.0.0 or later, but libgobject-2.0.0.dylib provides version 2401.0.0 Trace/BPT trap: 5 Is there a newer version of glib2 coming? A simple example: $\newcommand{\foo}{bar}\foo$. Yet the logs in the browser include: {{{ [Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (newcommand.js, line 0) [Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (jquery.min.map, line 0) [Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (backbone-min.map, line 0) }}} As you can see, newcommand.js is not very it is expected to be. I have no idea if the two other errors are benign, but I guess they should be checked too. Surprisingly, most dependencies do compile, except for gobject- introspection, kerberos5 and ports depending on them. The configuration of gobject-introspection does not reveal any problem, but while building gobject-introspection, the build fails with the following error : {{{ :info:build mod = imp.load_module(name, open(realpath), realpath, (extension, 'rb', 3)) :info:build ImportError: dlopen(./.libs/_giscanner.so, 2): Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libffi.6.dylib :info:build Referenced from: /opt/local/lib/libgio-2.0.0.dylib :info:build Reason: no suitable image found. Did find: :info:build /opt/local/lib/libffi.6.dylib: incompatible cpu-subtype }}} I tried to install an older version of gobject-introspection and had the same error (maybe I did not try an old enough version). NS3.3 was Reno, but not yet BSD4.4, pre Posix. NS3.3 came with the orginal BSD bourne shell and the original m4, with gcc 2.29, etc which makes just makes every modern ./configure fail. I got some way up, getting me some oldish bash first, and working up my way, the versions of all the tools. I did stop at posix threads, while I'm pretty much sure that this can be implemented in terms of Mach cthreads. We should copy this from Darwin. --- I excuse: backporting to NS3 is only of limited interest. Please give me some advice: Should I base this on macports? Should I go pkgng? Homebrew is not an option, because homebrew needs a recent ruby. I want to play ruby on my cube. That's what it is all about. getting the software up step by step, from the heritage of NS3/BSD4.3/Mach2.5 up to compile all of the new kit. #48818: PDFTK Server on OSX 10.11 El Capitan ------------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: aadams99@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: High | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.3.3 Keywords: pdftk | Port: ------------------------+-------------------------------- I posted this on SO under the same title, and don't know if this is the right place to place a request for this type of help, but I have a hunch the root cause is a port needs to be updated: I've been using PDFTK Server on OSX pre 10.11 for over a year without any issue running commands on the command line. After installing OSX 10.11 beta, I can no longer run any PDFTK Server commands on the command line. It will not throw an error, all the commands I try to execute just hang indefinitely. I installed from a pkg I downloaded from the PDFTK Server website as always: https://www.pdflabs.com/tools/pdftk-server/ I've sent in the complaint to Apple via their Feedback Assistant application that gets installed when installing the beta two months ago without a response. I've searched the web for a clue as to what might be causing the issue and how to fix it, but have found nothing tangible. On OSX, I don't know how to go about figuring out if there is now a permission or path issue with the executable after the upgrade.
