I know to have my mouse cursor in the textfield and type. Clicking first doesn't help. I discovered this first trying to type a filename for SaveAs, and later when trying to Edit a Text element to change its text. Note that it DOES work to type text on the drawing using the Text mode tool. It fails in the Edit inspector which uses a textfield to change the text. I first installed XCODE and the command line code that accompanies it. After that, I installed MacPorts. When I try to install the programs, it seems as if it's working, but then it stops whenever it gets to accessing dbus. It is an internal format in GDAL and has no external dependencies. We (http://www.pcraster.eu) are finalising the OSX support of our software and file format support by the gdal tools is relevant for user's workflows (e.g. with QGIS). Thanks!
