The system returns "Password:". I cannot enter a password due to the cursor being placed one spot to the left of where it should be. I cannot arrow, tab, place cursor in correct spot either in a x11 shell or a terminal shell. I then try to get a correct input to enter my password by simply hitting enter but it still does not allow me to and sends the "password incorrent, try again" and places the cursor in the same spot. I am on mac os 10.4.?. The install of x11 was done via my mac os startup disk 1 as per instructions without incident.
