#26324: zsh-4.3.10 update to latest release (was 4.2.7) ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Reporter: dan@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: update | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.9.1 Resolution: invalid | Keywords: Port: zsh | ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Comment(by dan@…): Yes, I see that now on the page you cite. However, my motivation for producing a new zsh port was that the zsh in OS X 10.5.8 is already at 4.3.4: {{{ Oenone:~ % /bin/zsh --version zsh 4.3.4 (i386-apple-darwin9.0) Oenone:~ % uname -a Darwin Oenone.local 9.8.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.8.0: Wed Jul 15 16:55:01 PDT 2009; root:xnu-1228.15.4~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386 }}} So, installing any port that depends on zsh effectively forces a downgrade of zsh to 4.2.7. This seems dubious and unwarranted. Perhaps the zsh port should at least install 4.3.4 or that version installed by the latest OS X 10.6.x? In addition, I pulled the source from http://zsh.sourceforge.net/Arc/source.html (linked from [http://zsh.sourceforge.net/]) which only references 4.3.10 with no indication its a dev release. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/26324#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
