you should be able to delete the entire /Applications/MacPorts folder.
And I should say, if there's anything else in your /Applications/MacPorts folder, besides Python folders containing broken IDLE apps, please let us know, because if you've already uninstalled all MacPorts ports, /Applications/MacPorts should already have been removed by MacPorts; anything remaining in that folder is either there because you put it there or because of a bug, and we'd like to know about bugs.
Dear Ryan, Thanks a lot for your response. The Macports app is completely removed including all the folders. I am left with this broken IDLE app that I can't find anywhere else in the mac accept for in the launchpad. So maybe it's an apple bug?
