#36212: vim: consider making +huge a default variant --------------------------+---------------------- Reporter: blair@… | Owner: raimue@… Type: enhancement | Status: assigned Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.1.2 Resolution: | Keywords: Port: vim | --------------------------+---------------------- Changes (by raimue@…): * status: new => assigned Comment: Good point. In the past, I was used to different packages such as vim, vim-full and vim-tiny in other distributions. However, as you say, it seems like this has changed and others are now offering larger packages by default. [http://anonscm.debian.org/hg/pkg-vim/vim/file/a204f3761738/debian/rules Debian/Ubuntu]: vim: huge, vim-tiny: small [http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/editors/vim/Makefile?rev=1.399 ;content-type=text%2Fplain FreeBSD]: vim: big, vim-lite: normal(?) [https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/vim/sources/spec/ Fedora]: vim- enhanced: huge, vim-minimal: small Looking at ` :help +feature-list` suggests that only `:profile` is additionally enabled with +huge compared to +big... So a new default seems reasonable and I will add a `default_variant` with the next version update. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/36212#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
