OSX 10.8.3 with XCODE 4.6.2 (4H1003) and command line tools xcode462_cltools_10_86938259a port selfupdate and port upgrade outdated was done just before attempt to install metis
New description: Install of metis hangs during configuration. Doing `port -d install metis` seems to proceed normally but then hangs forever. You aren't by chance trying to install metis from a root shell, are you? If you are, re-try from a regular shell using `sudo`.
