Please install the command line tools by executing `xcode-select --install`. Also make sure that you have accepted the Xcode license using `sudo xcodebuild -license`.

I empathize here a little with the user since this happened to me not too long ago. To be fair, it is incredibly confusing when this error is encountered because there is not even a hint that command line tools aren't installed or the license hasn't been accepted. There was talk about having MacPorts check this type of thing.
