 As mentioned by Levent on the mailing list and in ticket #30238, `libnewt`
 needs to be compiled `--with-python` to satisfy the requirements for
 `byobu`.

 But configure and makefiles need a bit of fixing to make this work
 properly with python from MacPorts.
