#32163: Bundle and desktop entry for Bluefish ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Reporter: rudloff@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: Low | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.0.3 Keywords: | Port: bluefish ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Comment(by rudloff@…): Bluefish integrates very well if it is built with Quartz. It uses the OSX menubar, the shortcuts, drag and drop from Finder. So having a bundle makes it feel even more like a native app. The [http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ desktop entry] is needed to open files with Bluefish from Thunar, Nautilus, etc (it makes it appear in the "Open file with" menu). I think it is also used for Xfce and Gnome Applications menu.[[BR]] Most GTK applications install one, but for some reason Bluefish doesn't. Would it be acceptable to add the bundle for the ''quartz'' variant only ?[[BR]] I personnaly use a lot of GTK/Quartz applications daily (Thunar, Pidgin, Transmission, etc) and having a bundle is really a nicer way to open applications than having to open the terminal. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/32163#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
