#13968: ditto: … No space left on device (whilst running a string of commands related to sudo port mdmg wv) -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Reporter: grahamperrin@gmail.com | Owner: afb@macports.org Type: defect | Status: assigned Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts base bugs Component: base | Version: 1.6.0 Resolution: | Keywords: mdmg ditto -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Comment (by afb@macports.org): Replying to [ticket:13968 grahamperrin@gmail.com]:
On my hard disk there was more than 8 GB free before running the commands, so I assume that it was the disk ''image'' that had no space left.
= Questions relating to space on device = 1. How to avoid running out of space on the device? 2. How to calculate the amount of space required? 3. If the amount can not be ''calculated'', how much would we ''guess''?
I assume so too... (that it was the disk image it created, rather than your hard disk itself) It calculates the space based on the size of the mpkg, but apparently something failed there. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/13968#comment:10> MacPorts </projects/macports> Ports system for Mac OS
