#19960: kdebase4-runtime 4.2.4 fails to install without phonon installed -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- Reporter: dan@… | Owner: illogic-al@… Type: defect | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.7.1 Resolution: invalid | Keywords: Port: kdebase4-runtime | -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- Changes (by illogic-al@…): * status: reopened => closed * resolution: => invalid Comment: Replying to [comment:9 jm@…]:
Thanks. I checked on my Debian station and kdebase4-runtime has a dependency on phonon. So I think it is required. I am recompiling and will submit a patch unless you do so. kde depends on phonon, yes. the source of phonon does not matter however. Qt provides phonon, and macports builds it automatically. building the second, kde version is unnecessary (and in this case quite useless as we don't compile any engines from it) because the qt version, and only the qt version provides the quicktime backend which we use (its compilation depends on private Qt files IIRC).
Also, the error you listed above is a direct result of compiling in screen. I'm guessing it's some kind of apple terminal bug. either way, start a new screen session, or better yet, don't compile kdebase4-runtime in screen. Hope this helps, good luck. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/19960#comment:11> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
