Right now, people who are not contributors/developers can only make tickets and comment on tickets. If they should be able to create/edit wiki pages, then thats certainly possible. I leave it to MP management to decide what authenticated users should be able to do. If MP management can monitor the changes and report the spam, we'll do what we can to filter it on the server end of things.
Assigning to MP management to decide.
I've been thinking about this issue and currently I don' think it's wise to open up our Wiki to non-committers. I get nausea just by remembering how we had to deal with massive amounts of spam on a daily basis back on the OpenDarwin Wiki. I do, however, want to encourage non project members to contribute with stuff like documentation, tutorials, HOTOWs, etc. Please don't refrain from writing any text you think might help the project, and go ahead and submit it (them) as attachment(s) to tickets assigned to the [milestone:"Website & Documentation" Website & Documentation] milestone. Thank you for your understanding! -jmpp -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/10673#comment:8> MacPorts </projects/macports> Ports system for Mac OS
