 This plays `foo.webm` just fine, and
 [http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/man/en/mplayer.1.txt the usual MPlayer
 keyboard commands] for Pause, Seek, Fullscreen, etc work just fine as
 well.

 However, no keyboard commands relating to the on-screen display ("OSD")
 have any effect. For example, pressing the "o" key does nothing.

 So, after looking at the [http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/fonts-
 osd.html fonts-osd] chapter of the MPlayer docs, I tried a few possible
 workarounds, without success, as follows:
