#51842: Timidity: request for a new port -------------------------+--------------------- Reporter: mojca@… | Owner: mojca@… Type: submission | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: Port: timidity | -------------------------+--------------------- Changes (by mojca@…): * type: request => submission Old description:
I would like to have some software that supports MIDI files. (Quick Time 7 does that to some extent.)
Many people recommended timidity, a software last modified in 2004, but apparently still OK and HomeBrew packages it: * https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew- core/blob/master/Formula/timidity.rb
Just in case it's relevant (and easier to use in MP), google led me to a much simpler version of the same formula (for the same version of the software): * https://github.com/KDAB/Homebrew/blob/master/Library/Formula/timidity.rb
The sourceforge is currently experiencing problems, but this is the homepage: * http://timidity.sourceforge.net/
Here's a link to sources and PPC binaries for a Cocoa GUI (which need a bit more time to look into): * http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~gb7t-ngm/timidity/download.html
I would be grateful if someone would look into this, but I'll probably try to come up with something if nobody else does, I just need more time and wanted a reminder with links.
