#31444: MacPorts Python decimal module broken; Python installed from source works correctly ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Reporter: josharian@… | Owner: jwa@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.0.3 Keywords: | Port: python27 ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Comment(by josharian@…):
There are known problems building Python with clang on OS X. See, for instance, http://bugs.python.org/issue11149
Thanks for the pointer. That seems like a very likely suspect. An increasing number of people will be using clang over time. Perhaps it'd be worth (ugh) having a gcc port install as a dependency, and use that known good compiler to build Python? -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/31444#comment:5> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
