#27600: atlas takes a long time to build -----------------------------+------------------------- Reporter: ryantkoehler@… | Owner: jameskyle@… Type: defect | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.9.2 Resolution: wontfix | Keywords: Port: atlas | -----------------------------+------------------------- Comment (by vince@…): Atlas has its own parallel build process. Since all cores share L2 cache, it cannot safely run time measurements on two or more cores simultaneously, because this could cause spurious cache coherency and introduce a bias. That’s why it does compile several pieces of code in parallel, but tests each one serially. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/27600#comment:20> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
