#16954: rsync always used for selfupdate, which has issues when behind a firewall ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Reporter: asbjorn@ulsberg.no | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts base bugs Component: base | Version: 1.6.0 Resolution: | Keywords: rsync svn update selfupdate sync Port: | ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Changes (by blb@macports.org): * component: ports => base Comment: Was the latter output from running selfupdate? I believe that it still uses rsync regardless of how you have the ports tree installed on your system. At least if I'm reading [http://trac.macports.org/browser/trunk/base/src/macports1.0/macports.tcl?rev... the source] right. Since you're running MacPorts 1.6, selfupdate won't be doing anything right now since that's the current versioned release. Long term, syncing for selfupdate via other means should be supported. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16954#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
