#22598: when pressing enter after entering "Sudo port selfupdate" via x11 or terminal cursor placed in wrong place to enter password --------------------------------+------------------------------------------- Reporter: paldusty@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: base | Version: 1.8.1 Keywords: | Port: --------------------------------+------------------------------------------- Comment(by paldusty@…): Thanks for responding and yes I have. I just typed my password and pressed enter. It responded with the invalid password response and said try again. I did again with the same result. I did it one more time and it failed again, but this time it kicked me out because of too many tries. I even tried the complete command again with same result. I thought that maybe I could enter the password with the selfupdate command, but it did not recognize this and simply did exactly what it did the first time. Please help. I really want to use GIMP, which is why I am doing this in the first place. It was recommended that I use macports to install GIMP because it would be easy, which it probably is IF I could get macports installed. Thanks. I look forward to your response.
