 So MacPorts says `pkg-config` should be there, but it seems not to be.
 Presumably some outside force deleted it without MacPorts' knowledge.
 That's disconcerting but let's see if we can get it back with:

 {{{
 sudo port -f deactivate pkgconfig
 sudo port activate pkgconfig
 }}}
