#34180: boost: add mpi support by default ---------------------------------------------------+------------------------ Reporter: christophe.prudhomme@… | Owner: adfernandes@… Type: enhancement | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.0.4 Resolution: invalid | Keywords: haspatch Port: boost | ---------------------------------------------------+------------------------ Changes (by adfernandes@…): * status: new => closed * resolution: => invalid Comment: The problem is that `openmpi` doesn't just pull in a library, it installs `openmpi` as well, which is rather large. I'd turn the question around and say "why not just add the variant to your `${prefix}/etc/macports/variants.conf` file? I understand why you're asking, but then you need to ask "why not add python as a default variant"... and it keeps getting bigger... -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/34180#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
